Color Trends of 2014

Just in case you were wondering what colors to expect this Spring, or simply want to know what colors to select, below are the answers to these questions:

It's a high school girl's favorite time of year

Prom dresses are one of the most exiting fashions to try on and pick out.  Stick with solids and bright colors, or blacks and whites.  You want to look sophisticated and put together.  Long dresses are typical for prom, but you can also get away with short dresses this year.  Just choose a dress that really highlights your individual style.  Don't be afraid to wear a vintage dress from a family member, thrift store, or vintage shop.  You will be sure to be the only one wearing that dress!

Embellishments

You will find embellishments like you have never seen before!  Exaggerated flowers, shapes, and sequins will make outfits more appealing and interesting.  Most of these additions will be found on solid color dresses and skirts.  If you are concerned about being too over the top buy an embellished purse or a skirt with a minimum of additions.

Metallics

Dressing in metallics will be a good way to go simple yet bold.  Find a shiny handbag, shoes. or top to make a classy statement.  A metallic skirt is the most subtle way to incorporate this trend into your everyday wear.

Mod

Mod fashion is very versatile, fresh, and clean.  You will also see a lot of color blocking in dresses and clothing sets.  It is wonderful for in the office or going out on the town.  Blacks,  greens, and purples will be the predominant colors that you will find.  If you want to go all out find a print with rainbow colors and rock it.

Be on the lookout for Asian influences in fashion this Spring.  Incorporate an Asian style handbag, hat, or Kimono.  Stick with reds, blacks, and whites.

Red is not only for the 4th of July.  This Spring, suprise others by being striking in red.  Go all out and wear red head to toe.  You can also just add a red lip, handbag, shoes, or dress.  Choose different shades of red like orange-red or fire engine red.
